Less product for higher cost

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Very disappointed with the Bisquick Biscuit product, they made the package smaller and cut the amount of the product. So now you can only make 5 biscuits instead of the 6 you use to be able to make for the same price or even a little higher. They must think the consumers are stupid. If you have to raise the price do so and let the consumer decide if they want to buy the product or not. This is a General Mills product they don't give a damn about their customers only the bottom line "profit". Switching to another product.

Preferred solution: return to full amount of product rather than reduced amount even if the cost has to go up.

This is the new method of raising prices by reducing the amount of product in the package instead of keeping the same amount and raising the price of the package. Most people wander on thru life not noticing the reduction and, in effect not noticing they are now paying more for less. Don't buy the product.

You did not lose $10.

You lost 1/6 of the product in comparison to previous examples.

Maybe $1.50

But that trick is too common to fool most folks : smaller package, same/higher cost.

And they've probably added 1/4 industrial waste or something to keep it this full.

Strange feathers found

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My 11 year old bought yoplait last month. After she opened it, there were strange black hairs in it when she started eating it.

I contacted the company and they sent me a few free coupons and it was like case closed. I followed up by sending one of these mystery hairs to Yoplait. I seriously wanted to know what this was. Very gross and my daughter was disgusted.

After maybe 3 weeks I got a call from General Mills Consumer Affairs. I was told that they were "feathers" and they had no idea where they came from...not "we are investigating further or anything". She said we are sorry but nothing further is being done. Basically who cares.

This really makes me mad since they are dismissing it. Won't buy that anymore since it looked like RAT hair and where did this come from?

Little surprised by they way it was handled. I guess beware of what you eat.

What were you hoping for, a feather from an extinct species of bird like the Dodo? Realistically, there is nothing General Mills can do.

You would be surprised at what gets into your food. The FDA allows a certain amount of debris and other junk in processed food.

They have to else there would be no food processed in plants around the country. Next time you buy lettuce just picture where and how it is picked and by whom.

Offensive commercial

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I just saw the General Mills gluten free breakfast cereal commercial done to look similar to Wheel of Fortune. I found this commercial to be offensive to the American public. The commercial starts with a "contestant trying to solve a word puzzle with only one letter missing. The" contestant" guesses the wrong letter. This insinuates that the average American couldn't solve the puzzle. Does this company think we're all illiterate and ***?!?!

BRING BACK MILLSBERRY

Millsberry was a fun game I used to always get on when I was bored, or just needed a break from the world. It was fun and educational.

General Mills shut it down back in 2010, and since then I have missed the game there's no other games like it! My cousins played millsberry, so did many of my friends. It was a very safe site as well. Maybe Millsberry didn't have as many people as other games, but why break the hearts of so many kids?

If they needed more people to keep the site going, they could of advertised! I miss Millsberry and I'm heartbroken it's gone.

It was the best, safest, most educational game I ever played. Please bring back Millsberry.com!

General Mills - Cereal Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hi I recently found out that General Mills has been putting TSP into their Cereals. I am a disabled person who has Crohns Disease, which is bad enough.

However now I have to worry about having Trisodium phosphate a cleaning chemical/paint *** in my Cereal?? What the ***?? Why is General Mills allowed to get away with putting dangerous chemicals in our food? This issue needs to be addressed.

Here's some information that I found out about TSP. TSP is used as a buffer to adjust the acidic nature of the cereal dough. In home cleaning products TSP is used in large quantities. In our food products we use very small amounts.

Theoretically, any food grade base could be used: sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide, ammonium phosphate, etc. At General Mills we have found that TSP works best in our particular products, and has been approved as safe for use in food by the Food and Drug Administration." "As soon as TSP dissolves in the gastric juices of the stomach it is no longer present as such, only as sodium ions and a phosphate ion. In fact, this disassociation takes place even earlier, during the making of the cereal as it performs its buffering job. So one consumes very little — if any — TSP.

It's important to note that the body doesn't distinguish the source of simple ions, whether they came in as an inherent part of the food or as part of an added ingredient. These ions are consumed naturally in large amounts in foods and water and they're both necessary for life.

The body already has 'pools' of each ion; TSP in cereal adds just a few more 'drops.'" This isn't the first time we've heard consumers question the presence of TSP, although we've never been able to actually find anything that indicts its low-level presence as harmful — however shocking "eating TSP" may sound! The other possible "buffers" mentioned by General Mills would also raise questions with most natural foods consumers, no doubt, though they don't "ring bells" as TSP does, because we've all seen it in Spic 'n Span floor cleaners and wallpaper ***, as Marna notes.

Do you have an in-house marketing dept or did you intentionally hire incompetents to advertise for Cheerios? What would make anyone think that teaching kids it's cute to pour milk all over everything 'cause you're too stupid or clumsy to hit your own mouth is going to influence parents to invest in your cereal?

Please think about what you are doing before you put it on TV.
